The judges noted the layered approach, which gives everyone access to resources like ‘write bites’ and key message banks. The team positions plain language as smart communication, helping to get buy-in from across the agency.

This work has achieved impressive, tangible results. By removing frustration and confusion, the team is helping to keep New Zealanders safe on the road. The judges highlighted specific examples of success, including fewer calls from upset customers and a reduction in incorrect invoices, which created a benefit of up to $1 million.
