A standout strength is the team’s commitment to community-driven design. They work directly with diverse communities, testing content and letting feedback shape the final result. This ensures their health information is relevant, trusted, and easy for people to use.

The team’s work has had a powerful and tangible impact. Their engaging training has created new plain language champions and a positive culture shift. The judges noted this has a ripple effect, leading to better health outcomes in the community.

At Enliven, plain language is what we do. When we became part of Each, we saw a clear opportunity to embed plain language into an organisation already committed to equity, access, and person-centred care.

We’ve worked across Each to build plain language into everyday practice, through training, content reviews, resource development, user testing, and strategic advocacy.

This work has improved communication, built internal capability, supported funding for clearer resources, and most importantly, helped remove barriers so people can access the support they need and make informed decisions.

We are proud of our plain language team, and we’re excited for the opportunity, through the Plain Language Awards, to highlight their work with Each.

And the best news, we can help all organisations to communicate more clearly and effectively. We offer services including plain language training, content reviews, document conversions, and community co-design and user testing.

Our plain language work uses the four guiding principles of plain language, ensuring best practice. And our collaborative co-design and community testing approach gives us a deep understanding of how people engage with information.

Whether improving existing materials or developing new ones, we help ensure content is understandable, usable and supports informed decision-making.
