Hawke’s Bay Regional Council
2020–2021 Annual Report Summary
We think there is a lot to commend here. We believe you are far more likely to reach your particular target audience with this summary than with a standard, full annual report.
Your structure is wonderfully simple, clear and logical. Your overarching headings are clear and appropriate for the report. Much of your language is familiar and easy to read and understand. The use of we, our, you and our, as well as some colloquial terms, sets a welcoming and friendly tone.
We can definitely see this report appealing to your target audience, in terms of its length, layout and presentation.
Making our Annual Report easy to read and understand for our ratepayers and wider community was a key focus when we put this together.
Our Annual Report is the primary accountability document to demonstrate we are making progress on what matters – the region’s precious taonga of rivers, lakes, soils, air, coast, and biodiversity. It is also how we show value for ratepayer money.
We are thrilled to be a finalist in the Best Plain Language Annual Report category, highlighting our communication with our community.
