Barbra Kingsley
This is the kind of reader-friendly tool that can make a big difference in people’s lives.

I felt that all of the content was accurate and relevant, and it appeared to all fit together in a clear and seamless way. It would answer the questions I would have as a caregiver. It also provided some interesting question paths that helped me check my knowledge and learn in an interactive way.

The tone was professional and engaging. It gave the sense of wanting to build confidence in the reader so that they learn new ways to deal with a difficult life situation. I learned from the document, and I had a father with dementia!

Lynne Laracy
The document shows what can be done in-house with an enthusiastic team and lots of hard work. It understands its audience and provides good helpful information for them.

All the material ‘talks’ to the purpose. The practical examples and the activities support the content well. I learnt a lot, and wish I knew it when my own family member had dementia!

Charlotte Davis
This is an excellent tool. It appears to have been very well received and is making a difference in the dementia care setting.

The tool provides a ton of content to help people providing care to people living with dementia in special care units provide better care. It is also helpful for residents and their families.

My mother had dementia, and I was wishing that I had had access to something like this!

Media statement

At Ryman, our core values are around making everything we do good enough for mum and dad.

It’s important then, that we give our team members the tools and training to deliver the best care possible. We are thrilled to have this affirming recognition of the learning we create for our care teams. I know they will be chuffed that their workplace training is award winning! It’s been a goal of ours to apply for years.

We get a real kick out of giving our staff learning and development tools that are practical and relevant. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for people living in our villages, and their support crew. We were pleased to see that following the launch of this MyRyman Life dementia eLearning tool, incidences of resident distress decreased in our special care units. These results and this award inspires us to continue to apply a plain English lens to everything we do.
