Steph has a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and 13 years’ experience creating clear customer communication. She’s a past winner of the Plain Language Champion — Best Individual award.

I champion plain language, writing style, accessible content and branding as the essential ingredients for creating clear, simple, successful communication.

She’s part of the team responsible for keeping their writing style guide up to date and following best practice. She develops and delivers practical letter- and email-writing workshops for the product-savvy teams in her workplace, and is one of the Plain Language Advisors appointed under the Plain Language Act 2022.

Outside of work, Steph serves on the board for TechCommNZ, New Zealand’s professional network for technical communicators.
