Simon is the author of the popular writing guidebook, Clear Concise Compelling, and has been championing the value of clear information for about 20 years.

Simon’s book and professional development course teach office workers ‘essential’ writing skills that he believes should be taught in our schools and universities.

‘I believe useful information should be universally expected, like safe food. And that’s what plain language is all about — information that is able to achieve something for its audience because it is purposeful, concise, well structured, and, largely as a result of those three things, clear.’

Simon is an Associate of Victoria University of Wellington, and has been a judge for the Awards since 2011.
