Entering the Awards is an enriching experience

Entries to the 2023 Plain Language Awards open on 1 May and close on 31 July.

Ask anyone who’s entered the Awards in previous years and they’ll tell you what a worthwhile experience it is! The entry process invites you to reflect on how much you and your team have achieved, and offers you the chance to get recognition for your efforts.

Share your plain language story to inspire others

Here’s how to enter. 

1. Browse the Awards categories

To start with, have a good look through the Awards categories. The categories cover a range of documents and projects from the large (Best Organisation) to the small (Best Sentence Transformation). What sings out to you? Chances are, something you’ve worked on in the past year will fit one of the categories. Chat with your colleagues to see what they think too.

2. Plan your entry

It’s helpful to get started early, so that when it’s time to enter, you can be confident you have everything you need. The judges appreciate all the information you provide. Check the criteria for the category you’re entering and make some notes. That way, when it’s time to enter, you’ll have everything ready to go.

3. Enter your chosen category

When you’re ready to enter the Awards, complete the form for the relevant category.
